Times goes on and they still think this is a business

It should be pretty clear from the frequency with which I post to this blog that there isn't much happening here. Of course, if cold-calling middle men actually read this blog they wouldn't bother to call me and try to get more information on the services that BRS does not offer (or so one would hope). One can't help but wonder how much time and resources are being wasted on trying to drum up business with non-existent companies.

Why would anyone be searching on the string "burning river studios" anyway? Am I being confused with "burningriverstudio.com" (note the lack of "s" at the end of "studio")?

the best laid plans of mice and men often get sidetracked and then canned

A bit over a year ago it was my intention to do something quite different with this site, but the progress i made toward that goal over the past year has been so miniscule as to scarcely be noticed- even by me. Therefore, i rescind my previous announcement; if i ever use the net to sell craftwork it'll probably start at a commercial site run by someone else.

*sigh*

Just so you know

BRS is likely to have a make-over soon as i'm contemplating using it as a site to
sell craft work such as embroidery rather than as a showcase for flash animation and
games. Most likely that means the flash is going to be moved to another domain,
either one that is hosted by a company (e.g., deviantart.com) or a different, private
domain. One of the challenges of wearing many hats is that of budgeting time in the
most effective manner so at the moment i don't think it would be realistic to publish
a timetable for the change.

I want to thank everyone who has been supportive of my efforts these past few years.

IE isn't flash friendly anymore

If you use IE and haven't noticed already, M$ is making changes in this browser that is going to make the display of stuff like Flash and Quicktime movies a big bother. The specific hows and whys can be read elsewhere. I've not decided what, if anything, to do about it in regards Burning River Studios; other browsers such as Opera and Firefox don't appear to have any problems with the presentation of Flash, so if you like to look at Flash files alot you might consider switching from IE to one of those browsers if you haven't done so already.

a new game

Recently finished is a new game that parodies the childrens' activity books that are commercially available. It's my way of blowing a flash-based raspberry toward people who seem to think that talking about suicide invariable goads people into killing themselves unless they are explicitly told to not do it.
